On Wednesday, Rep. Chip Roy (TX-21) issued the following statement after the passage of H.R. 2694, the Criminal Judicial Administration Act, led by Reps. Chip Roy (TX-21), Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08), Henry C. "Hank" Johnson (GA-04), Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05), and Van Taylor (TX-03):

Though I wasn't ultimately able to vote for the block of bills that included H.R. 2694 on the floor, I am thrilled to see its passage. This bill will provide greater resources for federal judges while protecting civil rights of American citizens and I am proud to be a cosponsor. I did however, vote no today without reservation. The Democrats' process of grouping dozens of bills together and voting once, en bloc, is absurd. Members should vote on each bill and be able to put their name on the record for which bills they truly support or oppose. The "People's House" has become anything but. Forcing all suspension votes into one en bloc vote only takes away from the American people's ability to hold their Representatives accountable for their votes. I will continue to oppose this process, unequivocally.
